How to consume flaxseeds
Soak the seeds: As a laxative; in night, fill a glass of water and pour two tablespoons of *flaxseeds. The next morning, on an empty stomach, drink the water with the mucilage gel and the seeds. This facilitates intestinal transit.
Grind the seeds: It is not convenient to consume the whole seeds, because the digestive system cannot process them, and their nutrients are lost. Then, it is best to grind them, with a coffee grinder or a food processor and obtain a flour for cooking or sprinkling.
It should be consumed soon, as Omega 3 fatty acids degrade easily. Therefore, store them in a closed container, inside the refrigerator.
– If you use other medicines: ingesting the seeds 2 hours before, or 2 hours after these medicines. Since the absorption power of *flaxseed, may decrease the effectiveness from medicine.
– Because of its ability to act as estrogen, it is inadvisable in pregnant women.
